The programme
A 3-day practical introduction to modern bioscience work.
This programme introduces participants to the basic habits, tools and thinking used in applied bioscience laboratories.
Over three days, participants learn how to work safely in a teaching wetlab, understand the logic of fermentation, follow basic laboratory documentation practices, observe and record process data, and prepare a short project summary based on their work.
The programme is designed for people who want direct exposure to real lab practice before entering internships, graduate study, teaching, food or agriculture work, biotechnology or innovation projects.
This is not a medical, clinical, diagnostic or hazardous training programme. It is a supervised, teaching-focused bioscience experience within Maya Lab's safe lab scope.

Maya Lab Academia is not a generic classroom course.
It is built inside Maya Lab's applied bioscience environment, where biotechnology, fermentation, product development, process thinking, lab documentation and biological data are part of real work.
Maya Lab works around biotech-enabled ingredients and products, including fermentation-derived compounds, proteins, enzymes, functional ingredients and cleaner production routes.
This gives participants exposure to the mindset of a working bioscience lab: safety, measurement, documentation, process control and interpretation.
The value of this programme is not only the curriculum. It is the environment.

3-day education plan
Theme: how to think and behave inside a real lab.
Participants learn what makes a lab different from a classroom, how Maya Lab works, how an applied bioscience lab is organised, what safety rules apply, and what is allowed and not allowed in the programme.
They are introduced to basic tools, measurement habits, sample labelling, lab notebooks, SOP reading, contamination awareness and supervised wetlab practice stations.
Day 1 outputTheme: how biological processes are followed in the lab.
Participants learn fermentation in plain language: where it is used, how traditional and modern fermentation differ, why microbes are useful, what a fermentation process needs and what can go wrong.
They practise reading a simple process plan, preparing documentation, observing a supervised fermentation-related process, recording time-based changes and discussing sources of error.
Day 2 outputTheme: how lab work becomes a meaningful result.
Participants organise lab notes, clean simple data, create tables and basic graphs, compare changes over time, explain uncertainty and avoid overclaiming results.
Each participant prepares a one-page project summary, presents observations informally, receives feedback from Maya Lab and completes the programme.
Day 3 outputWhat you will do
Who should apply?
Individual applicants include students, graduates, teachers and early-career professionals. Previous advanced lab experience is not required.
Company participants may apply when a team wants practical biological process literacy around production, quality, R&D or innovation.
Certificate
Participants receive a Maya Lab Certificate of Completion after completing the full 3-day programme.
This is a Maya Lab certificate, not a MEB-accredited certificate or formal degree qualification at this stage.
The value of the programme is direct exposure to Maya Lab's working lab environment, hands-on practice, fermentation process thinking, documentation discipline and project-based learning.
Safety and scope
Maya Lab Bioscience Foundations is designed around safe teaching practice.
Participants do not perform medical, clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic, hazardous or unsupervised biological work.
The focus is basic lab literacy, safe wetlab habits, fermentation process understanding, measurement and documentation.
Founding cohort
Maya Lab Bioscience Foundations is delivered in small cohorts. Applications are reviewed for fit, motivation and group balance.
